Your headliner, Juliana Rodrigues

juliana rodrigues

Juliana Rodrigues began performing stand-up at the age of 15, now only 21 she’s gone on to make quite the name for herself in Toronto. In May 2017 the Canadian Press did a segment about her journey titled, “Canada 150: On stage with a Teenage Stand-up Comedian” for The Toronto Star, and has been featured on The National for her work as well.

In 2016 she participated in the Cleveland Comedy Festival where she was contest finalist and “Best of Fest” and has opened for Rich Vos, Ramon Rivas, and Gerry Dee. You can also catch her monthly show, “Ladies’ Night” the second Thursday of every month at The Underground Comedy Club.

Your feature, Joel Buxton

Joel Buxton

Joel Buxton was a two-time finalist in the Toronto Comedy Brawl, and has performed at festivals such as JFL42, Field Trip Music Festival, and NxNE. He produces a show called Don’t Break the Chain at Comedy Bar. Joel has released two sketch albums that are available on iTunes, the most recent called Bucky and Friends: Scoop into Cobra.

Amethyst Barron.jpgAmethyst Barron is a nervous wreck who sometimes thinks of something funny. They are a non-binary, queer comic and pet-sitter extraordinaire. When not picking up poop, they can be found telling jokes at Queer and Present Danger, Crazy Eights, Comedy Appetizer, Shweed, Stoned Up Comedy and more. Come see the comic that one honest barber said they “couldn’t picture” doing stand-up comedy.

raphael loucadellisRaphael Loucadellis is A film school drop out and a former monk before he dropped out of that too, join Raphael on his journey as he’s on the road to dropping out of stand up comedy.
You can catch Raphael hosting Let’s Get Weird Wednesdays every week at The Wild Pigeon in Etobicoke.

ashleyAshley Cachia is an up and coming comic and recent grad of the Second City Stand-Up Program. Ashley’s style has been described as quirky mom jokes, and her debut performance at Second City had the audience ugly laughing so hard it was embarrassing and now she’s no longer getting harassed to be on the PTA at her kids school. When Ashley’s not making jokes on stage, you can find her acting like she has half the energy as the other dance moms or performing improv for other people who do improv.

zain aliZain Ali is a 28-year old comic who finds humour in the little things, and not just because he’s 5’5 (and a half). His interests include sports, video games, and avoiding eye contact. Born in Pakistan, but raised in Toronto, he uses his unique perspective on society to perform jokes that critics describe as “please stop messaging
me”. He’s performed at Yuk-Yuk’s (Toronto/Vancouver), Second City’s John Candy Box Theatre, and His Mother’s House.

Moiz DivanMoiz Divan is a very amateur comic with a style that’s been described as impish. He’s currently killing it in the Second City Stand-Up program, and recently surprised friends and family when he didn’t f**k up his debut performance at Comedy Bar. When Moiz isn’t grinding it out on stage, you might find him humblebragging about how he made it to the gym last night.

andrew finlandAndrew Finlan is a former high school Vice Principal with a Masters Degree in Education. Andrew started his stand up comedy adventure two years ago at Second City as a way to stay young and to represent the post 50 year old demographic in the world of comics. As an active member of Gay Fathers Of Toronto, Andrew’s humor presents his unique perspective in an honest, vulnerable.style with some glitz thrown in to add life to the party. Andrew refuses to apologize for being fabulous.

jack skorochodJack Skorochod started doing stand up comedy 18 months ago, with a simple desire to get out of the house and away from his 4 kids for 5-7 minutes a night. Jack currently runs Straight Outta Oshawa every Thursday in Oshawa.  #tattooedcomic
