We have had a lot of time on their hands due to COVID completely obliterating the company that they painstakingly worked to create. Not that we’re bitter. Instead of moping (okay, we moped a little), we decided to do something constructive that we hope will bring more exposure and opportunity to Canadian comedians.
And now, we’re excited to announce that we will soon launch BS News, a comedy website featuring satirical news, fiction, videos, cartoons and other curated content written and/or otherwise created by Canadian comedians!
Now’s where you come in. Are you interested in contributing to BS News in any of the following ways?

We are also looking for monthly columns or series ideas. Comedy album reviews, horoscopes, monthly illustration, a collection of funniest tweets…any and all ideas will be considered! If there is a small cost, such as album purchase fees, event entry, etc., please let us know up front so we can budget for reimbursement in addition to your meager payment.
For now, you will be paid $10 for each published submission. You may republish to another site 30 days after it has published to BS News with a link back to original source. Once we’ve figured out how to monetize our site, we will hopefully be able to pay more. All published work will include an author byline. Monthly contributors will have a full bio.
If you are a crafty comedian who would like to sell your art, or you have merch you want to peddle on the BS News site on a consignment basis, please email us at contact@bs-news.ca with the subject line: Retail. We will keep just a 20% commission (plus whatever PayPal charges), all of which will go towards paying our content contributors.
If you want to advertise on our site, there are a few ways you can do that.
- Featured image on our website (linked)
- A promo piece – for example, your comedy album, special, etc. (linked)
- A listing on our events calendar (linked)
Just like we are paying contributors $10 each, all advertisements currently cost just $10. This money will go directly towards funding the site and paying contributors.
If you want to do a promo but cannot afford it, that is not a problem. Just write an original informative, comical, or otherwise entertaining article and you can include your promo at the bottom. This will cancel the $10 payments out!
