TESTING: ATTENTION PLEASE! Toronto’s Friendliest Comedy Competition is back.
New and experienced comedians compete for your secret vote with their best 5 minute sets. And they’re not the only ones who can win. Not only will you enjoy an evening filled with laughs and fun, advanced ticket holders are automatically entered into a door prize draw! The night is capped off with a headlining performance by comedian CATHY BOYD (Canada’s Got Talent, Just For Laughs 42, City TV).
Tickets are $15 in advance, $20 at the door (if available). This event often sells out. Advanced tickets are strongly recommended.
Each month:
1. The comedian voted Audience Favourite will win $100 from Black Sheep Comedy and a complementary photo shoot courtesy of our sponsor JoVi Photography!
2. The comedian chosen “Staff Pick” will get an automatic paid spot on a Black Sheep Comedy Brewery show and a $25 gift certificate to The Epochal Imp, courtesy of Epochal Imp.
3. Even the audience can win stuff! advance ticket purchasers are automatically entered in a draw for cool prizes. TESTING: ATTENTION PLEASE! is not just about competition.
Our goal is to provide an encouraging and welcoming environment to new and experienced comedians. Newbies are welcome to network, ask the experienced comedians (including the incredible headliner) comedy-related questions, request advice and seek feedback. Experienced comedians will be reminded of how much knowledge they have gained since starting out and how far they’ve come.

Your Headliner: Cathy Boyd
Cathy Boyd is a Toronto-based, brutally honest stand-up comedian, mediocre tennis player and mother of four who readily admits, three would have been good. She’s performed at comedy festivals across North America. You’ve seen her receiving a standing ovation from Howie Mandel on this season’s Canada’s Got Talent, at Just For Laughs 42, and on Citytv. You can hear her stand-up on SiriusXM, and you can find her latest comedy album, Wise Tracks, on virtually every platform.
How to Participate
If you are a new comedian (under 1 year) or an experienced comedian (2 years +) who has not been on a Black Sheep Comedy show in the last two years, you are welcome to send a spot request, with the subject line: TAP Spot Request, to blacksheepstandupcomedy@gmail.com.If you would like to contribute to prize packs on a one-off or regular basis, please email us!
