About the Lineup:
Pat Thornton is funny. You may know him from Sunnyside (CityTV), as Simon from Satisfaction (CTV). Other things you may know him from include: My Kitchen Can Be Anything (CBC digital) Hotbox (Comedy Network) , Comedy Bar (Bite Tv), Strombo (CBC) , The Debaters (CBC Radio) , Space Janitors (spacejanitors.com) or the mayor in Filth City. As a stand up he’s played Just For Laughs in Montreal and Toronto as well as the Winnipeg Comedy Fest and SXSW. His special, Different Times premiered on Comedy Network and Crave in 2017 and his first album Chicken! was recently nominated for a Juno. Pat loves pasta if you’re looking to get him something.
Cathy Boyd is an Ontario based stand-up comedian whose debut album, Wise Tracks, was recorded on March 6, 2020 live at Absolute Comedy in Toronto, one week before the covid shut down. It was released in June 2020. ,
Other notable credits include performances at the Women in Comedy Festival in Boston; New York’s She Devil Comedy Festival finalist; The Boston Comedy Festival; Maine Comedy Festival; Absolute Comedy Prove You’re a Comic Competition finalist; Palm Springs International Comedy Festival finalist; JFL42; and can be heard on Sirius XM Radio. Cathy was crowned Comedian of the North in Thunder Bay, January, 2019.
Brandon Ash-Mohammed is a Tim Sims Award nominated comedian, a Telefilm New Voices Award winning writer, and the creator of The Ethnic Rainbow (Canada’s first & only comedy show for LGBT comedians of colour). Brandon has opened for Julio Torres, James Adomian, Chris Redd, Mo Amer, Cipha Sounds, and has been featured on Baron Vaughn’s New Negroes live show. He’s made appearances at prestigious festivals such Field Trip Festival, Just For Laughs Montreal, and JFL42. He was named a Breakout Artist of 2018 by Now Magazine and Comic To Watch in 2019 by CBC. He was a writer on CBC’s first season of Tall Boyz.
His debut album Capricornication is the first comedy album ever released by a gay black Canadian.
Alice Rose is a transgender comic fueled by third-wave coffee and estradiol. A storyteller at heart, Alice combines introspective personal narratives with larger observations to create an intimate comedy experience. Alice recently opened for Colin Mochrie, has competed in Comedian of the North, and was recently nominated for an I Heart Jokes award. She has produced and hosted shows for JFL42, and has also been seen on CTV Your Morning and Netflix’s Designated Survivor.
The creator of Comic Sans Productions, Alice produces countless shows, and podcasts. She recently launched Charisma Mod, a live-play show featuring comedians playing through their first game of Dungeons and Dragons.

Nikki Payne hails from the amazingly named Sackville (yes!), Nova Scotia and is one of the smartest and funniest acts around, having won two Canadian Comedy Awards for Best Female Stand-up.
She has appeared on CBC’s Made in Canada, CTV’s Comedy Inc. and has been a huge hit at the Montreal and Las Vegas Comedy festivals. US audiences will also remember her for her popular appearances on NBC’s Last Comic Standing.
Kyle is a Canadian Comedy Award nominee who has taped various stand-up performances for The Comedy Network, CBC Radio & Television. He has also performed at Just for Laughs, JFL42, The Halifax Comedy Festival, Bluesfest, The Sudbury Comedy Festival, The 905 Comedy Festival, We’re Funny That Way Comedy Festival, and was a finalist in Sirius XM’s Top Comic Competition; a nationwide search for Canada’s next top comic.
Leonard Chan is a writer/comedian from Toronto, Canada.
As a comedian, he has been heard on CBC’s The Debaters, Laugh Out Loud, and Sirius/XM radio, published on CBC Comedy and The Beaverton, seen on stage at the Winnipeg Comedy Festival, the Halifax Comedy Festival, JFL42, worked with Ronny Chieng, Rhea Butcher, and Joel Kim Booster, and was one of the New Faces at Just For Laughs in Montreal.
As a writer, he was one of five finalists selected for the CBC Originals Stand Up and Pitch contest at the Just For Laughs festival in 2018. He’s also spent a little time in the writer’s room for international TV hit Kim’s Convenience, is writing for This Hour Has 22 Minutes, and has an original comedy in development with CBC.
