Comic Sans Productions presents “The Breakout Room,” an amateur comedy competition wherein industry leaders select a team of comedians to perform through an elimination process to find one winner. Think “The Voice” without the status, popularity, and network budget.
There’s a $500 grand prize on the line, plus a chance to open for a professional headliner during the 2021 Festival Season. 15 contestants will be chosen from the audition process, but only 1 will survive. Do you have what it takes to be Canada’s next breakout comic?
The Breakout Room is a competition show designed for comedians who have honed their craft in the virtual performance landscape, either by starting out as a virtual comic, or adapting to the platform in a meaningful way. All performances, auditions, and challenges will be conducted virtually during our live streamed elimination rounds.
