Black Sheep Comedy is invading Newmarket once again with a killer lineup of comics at Arch Brewing Co.! Your headliner on March 2nd will be none other than Foad HP, who may or may not show off his abs at some point during his set (spoiler alert, he will. Please come anyway).
Foad HP
Foad HP is an actor, comic, and writer from Toronto. He has performed at Just for Laughs, taped a set for Kevin Hart’s Lol Network, won the Toronto Comedy Brawl, written for This Hour Has 22 Minutes, and made guest appearances in American Gods and Nikita.
With special guests:
Andy Argueta
Andy Argueta is the class clown. He’s the kid who would never think before his spoke. Now, he’s bringing his antics to the stage. Andy draws his madness from performers such as Bill Hicks, Sam Kinison and Eddie Murphy.
A sensitive and romantic gentleman from the suburbs of Toronto; the buffon has always been one to laugh at and not with. And when he’s not on stage he’s at home binge watching 90’s rom-coms crying over his past lovers.
Luba Magnus
Luba brings a unique act to the stage, combining her jokes with music and drawings. She began performing stand-up in Toronto in 2006, and was quickly nominated to perform at the annual Fresh Meat showcase at Second City in 2007. After some time away from the stage, Luba returned to Toronto in early 2016, and has since appeared on some of the city’s most popular shows, toured through western Canada and Montreal, has been heard on SiriusXM, and performed at the 2017 and 2018 SheDot festivals. Most recently, she was nominated as a “Breakout Comic of the Year” at the 2019 I Heart Jokes awards.
She is incredibly self-aware of her quirkiness and fully embraces that in her stand-up routine.
Matt Keenan
Matt Keenan is quickly gaining attention as one of Atlantic Canada’s brightest young talents. Whether it’s wowing a theatre full of strangers, or just convincing the one drunk guy not to throw a bottle at him, Matt has found a silly, yet charming way to do it. He was the winner of James Mullinger’s Comedy Boot Camp earning the title of New Brunswick’s Funniest.
In September Matt packed his bags and moved to Toronto where he has been mastering the ability of making dumb or dark topics silly with his hilarious observations, quirky one-liners and masterful misdirection.
“The face of an angel and the mouth of a drunk uncle.” – Nikki Payne
Jenna Shamata
Jenna is a comedy writer/performer from Toronto, Canada. She is a graduate of the Sketch Conservatory program at Second City and currently teaches improv in the Kids and Teen Program and produces/hosts a monthly show that benefits The Redwood Women’s Shelter. She has had numerous essays published in the Globe and Mail and the online blog Shedoesthecity. When she isn’t performing standup, she is rearing children all over the city and systematically ordering pizza as to not get recognized.
Jack Skorochaud
Jack Skorochod started doing stand up comedy 18 months ago, with a simple desire to get out of the house and away from his 4 kids for 5-7 minutes a night. Jack currently runs Straight Outta Oshawa every Thursday in Oshawa. #tattooedcomic
Matt Henry
Comedian Matt Henry, can only be described as different. Since 2005, The Canadian Rasta has been looking to bring his very own brand of individualism to the constantly evolving world of Stand Up Comedy. Whether you need a host for your club, private function, or even a show produced from the ground up; two time Edinburgh Fringe Festival participant Comedian Matt Henry is committed to putting on the best performance. From London Ontario to London England, Whitby’s Comedian Matt Henry shows no signs of slowing down.
Matt has worked alongside some of Canada and North America’s top and unique acts including The Hardcore Legend Mic Folly, The Man of 1000 Voices Micheal Winslow, Gilbert Godfried, Darren Frost, Ron Josel, Kenny Robinson and more. It can be a table of six or a theatre of six-thousand, Comedian Matt Henry will always be looking to innovate every time he hits the stage.
Jesse Ralph
Jesse Ralph is a single, white, male comic straight outta Newmarket. Jesse has been described as the pretty boy with the potty mouth. How pretty he is can be debated… He performs at bars, pubs and clubs across the GTA, and has been a regular guest host at the Old Sod for Etobicoke’s Comedy Competition. When Jesse isn’t grinding it out on stage, you might find him enjoying a beverage or two at a sports bar.
