We are proud to present your incredible lineup for Black Sheep Comedy’s Stand Up @ Arch Brewing Co. in Newmarket on February 9th at 7pm!

Your headliner, Al Val!

al val

Al Val is a comedian, actor, writer and musician based out of Toronto. Starting his comedy career at the young age of 18, Al has since contributed his talents to program both local and national, from London Rogers TV to OutTV, MTV, and YTV. Al has built a respectable following through his unique brand of standup comedy and currently can be seen headlining shows all across North America; however, besides that he is no stranger to the improv and sketch scene, having performed with improv troupe “Starwipe” for 8 years and having graduated from Second City’s Conservative Program. Al is also the co-writer/producer/lead in the webseries “My Roommate and Friend” and can be seen as one half of the improv rock n’ roll duo “OverDude”. Between an always evolving, unique brand of comedy and large breadth of talent, Al Val’s stock as a breakthrough entertainer is surely on the rise, to say the least.

fiona obrienFiona O’Brien – After Emigrating from Ireland to Canada in 2012 Fiona began on a quest to stamp out the racism that the Irish face….One Lucky Charm at a time.

Fiona knows the Irish are not a race, but she cannot pronounce Xenophobia. A graduate of the Second City Stand up Course, Fiona quickly established herself by winning over audiences: Two time semi finalist in the Absolute Comedy “Prove You’re a Comic” competition, a finalist in the Toronto Comedy Brawl, a finalist in The ‘Rising Stars Competition’ at The Brantford Comedy Festival, and two time Tournament Champion at Flat Tire Comedy , and now banned from entering this year due to complaints by other jealous comics. Toronto’s SheDot festival. Kingston Comedy Festival. Featured on CBC’s Lol . Sirius XM. Yuk Yuks Ottawa

After providing the world with three future tax payers (all born by C Sections, just saying), Fiona has decided to dedicate her life to making sexually frustrated, disillusioned and bored people laugh with her no restraint, provocative, humour.

cathy-boydCathy Boyd The stand up bug bit Cathy late in life but some might say that gives her an edge. After completing the writing course at Second City, Cathy tagged along with a friend to try her hand at stand up comedy and the rest as they say, is history. She quickly made a name for herself in and around Toronto, London and Ottawa, Ontario, Montreal, Quebec and Saint John, New Brunswick. She found herself headlining at the Maine Comedy Festival in September of 2017 and performed at the Portland, Maine Comedy Festival in July, 2018. Cathy was 1 of 5 finalists in the 5th Annual Absolute Comedy Prove You’re a Comic Competition. She is also the producer of C’est La Vie, a monthly comedy show here in Toronto and can be heard on Sirius XM Radio, Canada Laughs at Alt Dot Comedy. Cathy was invited to appear at The Best of Absolute Comedy in September , 2018, as part of Toronto’s annual comedy festival, JFL42. This year she will be making her first showcase appearance at Absolute Comedy, vying for a spot at one of Canada’s most prestigious annual comedy festivals. Cathy is the loving mother of four, who readily admits, three would have been good. She’d have been good with three.

headshot jordanJordan Trafford is a construction worker by day and a queer identifying comedian by night (and also all the time…) his constantly evolving and developing style can best be described as developing and constantly evolving. After his initiation to stand up comedy at The Second City Toronto, Jordan now proudly embarrasses himself in more than just one location. He has performed, bombed, and told he was okay on such shows as the Comedy appetizer, Crazy 8’s, Church Street Comedy, and most recently Don’t break the chain. When asked about his future dreams Jordan says ” I want to be the guy I feel like in the shower.”

49848426_1830815207046745_3912635461998215168_nJesse Singh realized from a young age that he did not deal well with conflict, or real life situations, or even stress, the man was just a mess emotionally yo. Slowly he began to realize that he can utilize humour as his way of getting through life and found stand up comedy. He has risen to becoming one of the youngest and funniest up and comers the city has to offer. He’s been featured on the JFL42 festival and has performed on stages across Canada honing his craft. He also had the opportunity of being a finalist in this past years devil cup comedy fest in NYC. His personal experiences and realness on stage make him not only hilarious but also very lovable. Like a thuggish teddy bear.
