Black Sheep @ Big Rock Liberty Village, December Edition

Black Sheep Comedy is returning to Big Rock Brewery in Liberty Village with a fantastic lineup of talented comedians AND a complimentary 12oz beer or pop at entry. Come laugh along to this killer lineup:

Headliner Moe Ismail

Stand-up comedian Moe Ismail has been touring and performing across Canada and the U.S. for the past decade. His comedic style has often been described as energetic, diverse, and most of all, honest. Moe has been featured on the Just For Laughs 42 Festival, NXNE Festival, SiriusXM, and CBC. His material often draws from his experiences as an Egyptian immigrant growing up in Canada, various life struggles, along with past relationships. Throughout the years, Moe has gained national recognition and established a loyal following for himself.

Jennifer Hsiung

Jennifer Hsiung has a last name that no one can pronounce correctly. She loves scones, vanilla ice cream, Game and Thrones, and her kids (perhaps in that order). The mother of three was an international television anchor for China Central Television in Beijing for 10 years (where she covered two Olympic Games, a G20 Summit, and interviewed a bunch of famous people), and has just relocated back to her hometown of Toronto last September. She started pursuing stand-up comedy in China after baby number two came out, and made her Comedy Central debut in season three of “Stand-Up Asia!” last summer where she was featured in the first episode with Canadian comedian Sugar Sammy. She has hosted and opened for international headliners such as Ahmed Ahmed, Tony Woods, Kate Willett, Mike Ward, Mike Vechionne and Nazeem Hussein.

Two months after giving birth to her third son (yep, the babies just kept coming) she competed in the 2017 Hong Kong International Comedy Competition and was the only female to reach the finals. Jennifer has been delighting and disgusting audiences throughout Asia, and now North America, with her various impersonations, classy vagina jokes, and observations about motherhood, childhood, racism, astrology, physics, pop culture, English cucumbers and everything in between.

Max Sheldrick

Max Sheldrick got his start in comedy in the gritty scenes of Windsor and Detroit where he then toured the tri-state area quickly becoming known as one of the top rising comics. In 2017 he moved to Toronto where he has continued to make a name for himself. He was semi-finalists in both 2017 Border City Comedy Festival and 2018 Comedy brawl, and he won Sept 2018’s GoYukYourself. He also co-created the comedy group PlusTime Comedy which produces weekly online sketches and monthly live shows with a quickly growing fanbase.

Will Kristiansen

Will Kristiansen is a human man with two legs and a head on top. He moved to Toronto in 2013 to pursue unemployment, a field he has since mastered. Two years ago, he set his sights on stand-up comedy and he hopes to gain a similar proficiency.

Jenna Shamata

Jenna is a comedy writer/performer from Toronto, Canada. She is a graduate of the Sketch Conservatory program at Second City and currently teaches improv in the Kids and Teen Program and produces/hosts a monthly show that benefits The Redwood Women’s Shelter. She has had numerous essays published in the Globe and Mail and the online blog Shedoesthecity. When she isn’t performing standup, she is rearing children all over the city and systematically ordering pizza as to not get recognized.
